The 5 Best Grocery Deliveries in Belfast for Easy Shopping

Speed and Availability – We picked services that cover most Belfast postcodes with flexible delivery slots, including same-day or next-day options.

Product Range – We looked for variety–staples, fresh produce, household items, and some specialty local products.

Ease of Use – A good app or website is half the battle. We prioritized those with smooth ordering systems and reliable updates.

Customer Experience – Based on real customer feedback, we factored in everything from packaging quality to delivery friendliness.

When life gets busy (and let’s be honest, it often does), grocery delivery becomes less of a luxury and more of a necessity. Whether it’s the chaos of morning school runs, back-to-back meetings, or simply not wanting to queue behind someone with 47 tins of beans, grocery delivery services save both time and sanity.

Luckily, Belfast has embraced this convenience beautifully. From big-name supermarkets offering same-day deliveries to local shops delivering farm-fresh produce, you’ve got plenty of choices–each with its own quirks, perks, and occasional frustrations.

Below are our top five grocery delivery options in Belfast–rated for convenience, freshness, value, and how close they come to feeling like a personal shopper who understands you.

1. Tesco

tesco

Operating Hours: Weekdays (8 AM to 11 PM), Weekends (8 AM to 10 PM)

Instagram

Tesco is the giant that needs no introduction. Its grocery delivery service in Belfast is as dependable as your morning cuppa. You can book a slot days in advance, fill your online basket with just about anything under the sun– from milk and bread to a full Sunday roast– and have it all dropped at your door.

What makes Tesco stand out is the predictability. Their substitutions are usually spot-on, the delivery updates are real-time accurate, and their Clubcard discounts still apply online (a huge plus when you’re trying to budget).

Of course, prime-time slots—especially around weekends—get snapped up fast, and there’s the occasional “we’ve run out of bananas” situation. But overall, it’s Belfast’s most reliable all-rounder.

Pros

  • Extensive range of products and Clubcard savings
  • Consistent, punctual delivery drivers
  • Easy-to-use app and website

Cons

  • Popular time slots sell out quickly
  • Minimum order value applies

App is easy to use and clear to see the items.

Of all the online shopping apps, this one wins for me. It’s easy to use and clear to see the items/menus/trolley etc. It is also fantastic that all allergens are listed as we have young family members who really need this. What’s more, you can type in eg. ‘Cereal’ and refine the search by lifestyle/dirty requirements. So we can check the ‘no gluten’ box and get items ideal for our young Coeliac! You can now click on a photo and zoom in for more detail. You can create a ‘usuals’ shopping basket to mass load into your trolley which saves so much time. The only slight cons (which don’t even reduce the rating by one star) is that if you try to delete items off your usuals list, it can take several seconds for the change to take effect. This is fine if it’s just one or two items, but if you’re having a mass cull of items, it’s an infuriatingly long process. It would be good to have an ‘edit’ function where you can highlight all items you don’t want anymore then delete them in one click en masse. Other than that, this app is so much more intuitive and informative than all over online grocery apps I’ve come across.

2. Asda

Website: https://www.asda.com/

Contact Details: 0330 053 0111

Operating Hours: Daily (7 AM to 10 PM)

Instagram

Asda’s delivery feels dependable. Their slot tracker lets you see your driver’s progress, and the packaging—though occasionally excessive—keeps produce fresh.

They’re also great for bulk shopping and family households. From frozen pizzas to nappies to cleaning supplies, Asda makes it easy to fill a week’s worth of essentials without breaking the bank. And if something’s missing or damaged, their refund process is painless.

The only hitch? Sometimes, substitutions can be a little creative (you ordered basmati, they send jasmine), and busy evenings mean slower response times on customer support. Still, for big weekly shops, Asda’s value-for-money proposition is unbeatable

Pros

  • Wide delivery range across Belfast
  • Reliable tracking and refund policies

Cons

  • Occasional substitutions
  • Limited same-day delivery options

I’m savin 75% on shopping trip costs and about 6 hours of my life every month.

I broke my arm in 2016 and had to start online shopping earnestly as I couldn’t drive. It was such a revelation. Now I plonk in my favourites every week, alter the order the night before delivery to reflect what is actually in the fridge, get up next morning and hey presto my shopping arrives. I can’t understand why anyone would want to go to the supermarket ever again. I am a long way from a store, so have the delivery pass which costs the same as one journey to the store and I get weekly deliveries , so I’m saving 75% on shopping trip costs and about 6 hours of my life every month. Yes I get some substitutes which are weird, or once it was all very wet 😳, but on the whole it’s a fantastic service, the drivers are lovely and I’m extremely happy. I have really appreciated the way Asda have kept the service going despite all the trials of lockdowns and brexit, even if it means I can’t get yellow peppers this week, or ginger last week, these are minor issues compared with the reality that for a very small sum somebody is bringing me food for a week and I don’t have to fetch it. Thank you Asda. 😁😁

3. Sainsbury

Operating Hours: Daily (8 AM to 10 PM)

Instagram

If you’re someone who appreciates good produce and crisp packaging, Sainsbury’s might just win your heart. Their groceries arrive neatly packed, the vegetables actually look alive, and the chilled goods stay cold even after the driver leaves.

They’re also big on sustainability, with minimal plastic use and bagless delivery options. The downside? You’re paying a bit more for that polished experience. Prices lean slightly higher than Asda or Tesco, and the delivery pass is worth it only if you order often.

Still, their customer service is one of the best– quick to respond, and willing to refund without making you feel like you’re begging for 60p back.

Pros

  • High-quality produce
  • Excellent customer service

Cons

  • Slightly pricier than competitors
  • Limited stock of certain specialty items

I’m very happy with the quality

Having taken the plunge to have home shopping after becoming disabled I can only praise the service I received. The delivery slots are an hour long and over the whole day and evening which is perfect for me as I need some help to unpack. The delivery drivers are kind, considerate and act like nothing is too much bother. They deliver into the kitchen and are happy to help unpack for me. I never feel pressured or rushed and am made to feel valued as a customer. The online ordering is simple to use and the weekly or manufacturer in store offers are readily available to see. Any items not available are replaced( so far with brilliant alternatives) or the driver will take them back right then so Cant say fairer. I’m very happy with the quality and sell by/ use by dates are even pointed out if less than expected, above and beyond. Well done Sainsbury’s for making the change from store to home delivery for me so painless, a pleasure in fact. Great job choosing such lovely drivers, they made it for me totally.

Now, let’s step away from the big chains. Indie Füde, based in Comber but delivering all across Belfast, is a local gem that curates artisan foods from Northern Irish producers– think farmhouse cheese, sourdough, relishes, and handmade chocolates.

It’s perfect for gifting or upgrading your usual grocery list with something special. However, because it focuses on artisan products, it’s not ideal for your full weekly shop– no washing powder or loo roll here.

But when you want a treat or to support local producers, it’s hard to beat. You will definitely have unique products, perfect to impress guests and family!

Pros

  • Supports Northern Irish farmers and makers
  • Great for gifts and special orders

Cons

  • Smaller product range (mostly artisan)
  • Slightly longer delivery turnaround

Perfect service!

I ordered a Cheese board for my hubby for his birthday on Boxing Day. Indie Füde customer service were super helpful in squeezing me into the perfect delivery date on the 23rd of December and my hubby absolutely loved the cheese board (and me too as I did steal some!) A lovely selection of cheeses, the beetroot chutney was lovely and the cheesy crackers were the cherry on top! Perfect service! Would highly recommend.

5. Deliveroo

Operating Hours: Daily (varies depending on store)

Instagram

While Deliveroo isn’t exactly a grocery service provider, it takes groceries to your doorstep. Yes. Deliveroo isn’t just for takeaways anymore.

In Belfast, it partners with supermarkets like Co-op and M&S Foodall to deliver groceries within an hour. This is your savior when you’ve forgotten the milk or realized mid-recipe that you’re missing eggs.

It’s fast, simple, and reliable for smaller, top-up shops. The caveat? You’ll pay for the speed. Prices per item can be slightly marked up, and there’s usually a service fee tacked on. But when it’s raining sideways, paying an extra pound or two for doorstep groceries feels entirely justified.

Pros

  • Fastest grocery delivery in Belfast
  • Partnered with trusted local stores
  • Real-time rider tracking

Cons

  • Pricier than supermarket delivery
  • Limited to smaller basket sizes

Deliveries always arrive on time.

I love using Deliveroo! The app is super easy to navigate, and I can quickly find all my favorite restaurants. Deliveries always arrive on time, and the food is well-packaged and hot. The live tracking is really helpful, and customer service is friendly if there’s ever an issue. Makes ordering food so convenient — highly recommend! 🍔🍕🚴‍♂️
