goldsmiths-in-belfast
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

We struck gold with these 5 Goldsmiths in Belfast!

  • Quality of Service: We selected goldsmiths in Belfast with great craftsmanship and attention to detail, resulting in high customer satisfaction and repeat clients.
  • Expertise: It’s important for us that the jewellers already have over 10 years of experience in custom work, repairs, and other related services.
  • Communication: Naturally, we preferred friendly gold experts who provide clear and pressure-free advice to all types of clients.
  • Wait Times: To be efficient, we considered options with speedy repairs, good turnaround for custom pieces, and ample booking availability.
  • Range of Services: There should be adequate services to accommodate most needs. This includes bespoke designing, resizing, engraving, restoring, and the like.

Tired of exploring endless jewellery shops to find the right golden accessory? Same. My girls and I have numerous inspo pics on our phone. But actually getting something that matches the vibe? Way harder than it should be.

And don’t get us started on the salespeople—some are OK, but others can be a bit much. If you’re anything like us (aka socially allergic), the pressure is real! And if you’re not an expert, it’s easy to end up with something totally basic or way too flashy.

Whether you’re looking for the top stores for custom rings, budget-friendly repairs, or vintage finds, we’ve already cut through the gold-plated fluff and found the best goldsmiths in Belfast. Check them out and thank us later.

Lunn’s Jewellers is a family-owned business that we think is worth considering for a reliable goldsmith in Belfast. For one, it’s got more than 60 years of history, so we reckon it already knows what it’s doing.

We appreciate the in-house designers here too. In our opinion, this makes custom engagement rings, wedding bands, and heirloom pieces more efficient to create.

It’s also convenient for us that this shop provides many services to repair, resize, polish, and restore jewellery. In our book, this can save you multiple trips!

We’re also stoked that it stocks luxury brands you might like, such as Rolex, Cartier, Patek Philippe, and TAG Heuer. Also, there are many pre-owned luxury watches (which get authenticated here), so there are more affordable options.

Nevertheless, note that this store’s premium pricing might not suit everyone. We recommend checking the website for prices or reaching out to the staff before you visit.

Pros

  • 6+ decades of expertise
  • Wide selection of premium items
  • Trusted retailer of many luxury brands
  • Many repair and restoration services

Cons

  • Pricier than others

Exceptional & Consistent

“We have been loyal Lunn’s customers for many years, and every single visit has been nothing short of exceptional. From our very first experience to our most recent one, we’ve always been welcomed with genuine warmth, professionalism, and expert knowledge. The team at Lunn’s go above and beyond to ensure every visit feels personal and special – it truly is an experience, not just a purchase. Today was particularly memorable, as my daughter made her first purchase. James looked after us with such care and attentiveness, making it a moment we’ll both cherish. It’s this level of service and consistency that keeps us coming back – we simply wouldn’t go anywhere else.”

-Ms. Samantha McMurray, Google Review

Highly Recommended

“I would highly recommend Aidan and the team at the Omega store. Very welcoming, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. Relationship orientated team, no hard sell and always willing to do that bit extra for the customer. The experience of buying a luxury watch should be as special as the watch itself. Aidan and his team certainly live up to that expectation”

Somewhere a bit far from the city centre is Tesouro Goldsmiths, an independent, artisan jewellery studio. It’s known for bespoke fine jewellery if you fancy getting something no one else can have.

We believe this store is great if you want to turn any outdated heirlooms or sentimental jewellery into something fresh and modern. We also feel pretty good about the outcomes since the team commits to personalising everything, from concept to creation.

Not only that, but we love that you can deal directly with the goldsmith, instead of a pushy sales team who might just upsell you. This way, we feel you can get clearer communication and more authentic craftsmanship.

What’s more, we commend that this shop emphasises sustainable, ethical sourcing, and supports local crafts. No need to feel guilty about your third gold jewellery this month, we say.

Still, some of the drawbacks we’ve seen include the shop not having any ready-to-purchase branded jewellery..

What’s more, this tiny studio could be swamped at times. We think it’s better to book ahead or risk longer turnaround times.

Pros

  • Ideal for custom milestone jewellery
  • Direct access to the goldsmith
  • Strong focus on ethical sourcing

Cons

  • Not selling ready-to-purchase items
  • Occasional delays

Excellent

“Very pleased with the alteration to a family heirloom and even more pleased that it was completed within 24 hours. Excellent service highly recommended.”

5 Stars

“My wife had a great experience. Doreen and Paul were incredibly helpful. She had 2 rings resized (engagement ring and wedding ring). They were quicky returned and now fit perfectly. Friendly service, reasonable pricing and quick turnaround. 5 stars”

Gardiner Brothers is among the oldest jewellery businesses in the city, so we bet it already has several trusted goldsmiths and gemologists. It’s been around since 1937 too!

Plus, it showcases a wide range of fine jewellery, loose diamonds and precious metals. If you’re overwhelmed, we appreciate that this store is big on good old-fashioned conversations. It has done plenty of bespoke work on its online gallery.

In addition, we appreciate that it has comprehensive tools and equipment, including adequate jewellery and goldsmithing tools, settings, and findings. In our opinion, this ensures work gets done quicker on the spot.

Other services also include remodelling and restoration, resizing and repairs, and valuation. Moreover, you could sell jewellery or scrap gold or metal here. Of course, the final fees would be based on weight and daily prices.

Do note that walk-ins may be limited, so we feel you might get a better experience with prior bookings.

Pros

  • Over 8 decades in the business
  • Both goldsmiths and gemologists are available
  • Complete tools and equipment on-site

Cons

  • Might need advanced reservations

Went the Extra Mile

“I have purchased items of jewellery from Gardiner Brothers on a number of occasions dating back to 1991 when purchasing my wife’s engagement ring. The quality is excellent, especially the precious stones and service is amazing. Staff go the extra mile to ensure that you are getting what you want and delivered when convenient to you. I look forward to purchasing more products in the future.”

-Mr. Paul Rose, Google Review

Excellent Customer Service

“Ordered a ring for my wife online and was contacted the next day to discuss my purchase. The ring was dispatched the same day. Excellent customer service and an excellent purchase. Thanks again”

Gordon House Jewellers has one of the most diverse jewellery collections we’ve seen in the city. If you love vintage things, we think you might fall in love with its antique options, such as Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian.

You can get various engagement rings, like halo, solitaire, and three-stone, as well as diamonds, eternity rings, necklaces, and bracelets. We think the men could enjoy exploring their cufflink options too.

Apart from that, we find it convenient that this shop has reliable on-site services if you need watch batteries, strap changes, cleaning, resizing, and more—most of these can be completed within hours too!

We also appreciate that it has unique services, such as turning leftover stones into new earrings. A client we talked to also commends being accommodated for a challenging repair with a rare watch. For us, this shows its goldsmiths’ skills and adaptability.

Still, remember that the store’s pre-owned and vintage selection changes often. So if you see something you like the first time, we say think twice before leaving.

Pros

  • Large jewellery collections
  • Lots of antique items
  • Fast repair turnaround

Cons

  • Inconsistent vintage inventory

Really Friendly & Helpful

“I was having issues with the spring bars in a new bracelet I had bought for my Seiko Alpinist (a watch I actually bought from them about 2 years prior!), the guys here fixed it with no problems free of charge. They were really friendly and helpful. Thanks again!”

-Mr. Cormac C, Google Review

Such a Lovely Shop

“Brilliant place. I have used it a few times and bought jewellery, they charge a much more reasonable price than any high street jeweller. Even for jobs that are fiddly. I had a watch that they had to make a tool to fix the links. Today I went with a necklace and he fixed it with no charge. Such a lovely shop and man who works there, wouldn’t go anywhere else!”
