Rhiannon’s Cakes and Bakes is calm, dependable, and effortlessly good at what they do. Rhiannon is known around Belfast for her cupcakes that actually taste homemade, not mass-produced. The sponges are pillowy, the frosting is silky, and every bite has that comforting, buttery warmth you only get when something’s made from scratch.

Roy’s Home Bakery is one of those family-run places that’s been quietly feeding Belfast’s sweet tooth for decades. You can smell the butter and sugar from down the street. Their cupcakes aren’t fancy, but they’re comfort food incarnate.
Expect soft vanilla bases with whipped buttercream piled high, sometimes with a cherry or sprinkles on top– old-school and proud of it. Their chocolate fudge cupcake is especially rich, perfect with a cup of tea on a rainy afternoon.
What sets Roy’s apart is consistency. Every cupcake tastes the same in the best way possible. Their prices are also refreshingly modest. The downside (if any) is that they keep things traditional. If you’re after fondant roses or edible glitter, this isn’t your stop.
