These 5 motels in Belfast didn’t break the bank (or our spirit)!
Done with fancy hotels with final bills giving you a heart attack? Same here. Turns out, we made a mistake in leaving our 2 kids alone (even for just half an hour)—we came back to a room service bill that looked like a restaurant tab for 10!
That’s why my husband and I had to regroup and rethink things—maybe a cute little motel wouldn’t be so bad. We’ve had our fair share of hits and misses. But now, we think we’ve got our go-tos.
Whether you want something more budget-friendly, short-stay, or with a quirky charm, here are some of the best motels in Belfast worth a look.
1. Travelodge Belfast Central

Address: 15 Brunswick St
Phone: +44 28 9033 3555, [email protected]
Travelodge Belfast Central is among our top picks for a no-fuss motel in Belfast. It’s located right in the heart of the city, so this seems highly accessible to most.
Moreover, we appreciate that this accommodation is walking distance to popular spots, like Victoria Square Shopping Centre and Belfast City Hall. In our opinion, this is convenient if you’re planning to have quick city breaks or overnight vacations.
As for the amenities, we like the simple yet clean rooms, comfy enough to crash without the steep price tag. There are decent showers and workspaces too!
Plus, we love that two kids aged 15 and under can stay free with a paying adult. A helpful option for families, we say.
Nevertheless, we think this place can get pretty noisy because of the city centre traffic. Also, note that on-site parking is unavailable, so you’ll need to scope out your options before checking in.
No Complaints
“Stayed here for a night out with a few lads very central location rooms are basic but clean no complaints”
-Mr. Liam Moore, Google Review
Absolutely Perfect
“Absolutely perfect hotel in the center of Belfast, near walking distance to everything. Clean and spacious rooms, nice reception.”

2. easyHotel

Address: 24-26 Howard St
Phone: +44 28 9002 0640
If you’re all about saving up, easyHotel is a casual motel that doesn’t overdo it with extras. We believe it focuses on providing clean and compact rooms—no frills and surprises, just comfort.
And since it’s only a short stroll from the city centre, we reckon this is appealing for short-stay and solo travellers. We find it handy that this is near many eateries too!
Don’t worry if you need the internet, either—we like that the minimalist rooms still offer complimentary Wi-Fi. On top of that, you can have breakfast at a cafe right below the hotel. Pretty handy, we say.
Just remember that this option strips back many amenities, and you might get very small room sizes. Daily housekeeping service is also unavailable unless you pay for it as an extra.
Perfect
“As a solo traveler who doesn’t spend much time in a hotel room this was perfect. It is bright and spotlessly clean with everything you need for a short stay. I stayed in a small double room. 5 minute walk to downtown , 5 min walk to train station which shops, cafes, restaurants on your doorstep..They have larger rooms also for more than one person and rooms for anyone needing mobility assistance. I would stay there again.”
-Ms. Claire Harrison, Google Review
Well-Maintained
“Superb services. Conveniently located. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Greatly recommend for short stays.”

3. OYO Queens Quarter

Address: 127 University St
Phone: +44 20 4524 4215
Should you prefer to be in the chill university area, we think OYO Queens Quarter is an affordable accommodation with a bit of personality.
For one, we adore that it’s set in a townhouse-style building with a charming neighbourhood feel. For us, this gives off a very cosy feel. You can also find decent amenities here, such as smart TVs, coffeemakers, and decent beds.
Not only that, but we also believe this is great for sightseers! It’s walking distance to Botanic Gardens, as well as pubs and coffee shops—something cool to explore with your fun group of friends, in our opinion.
But if you’re arriving with heavy luggage, we suggest considering other options because this motel doesn’t have a lift. There’s not a lot of parking available as well.
Fantastic
“The location, price and room itself was fantastic! It was an easy process and run very well. The only negative was the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the internet didn’t work great for the TV or on our phones, apart from that it was a nice stay”
-C McNally, Google Review
Perfect for What I Needed
“Easy access to the property, road parking. You get what you pay for, clean no frills room with ensuite and tea and coffee facilities and tv. Perfect if you just need a bed to sleep in and somewhere to wash. Staff were very friendly helpful and courteous.”

4. Standing Stones Lodge

Address: 16 Divis Rd
Phone: +44 28 9082 4012, [email protected]
A motel in Belfast serving peaceful and picturesque vibes is Standing Stones Lodge. It boasts a cosy countryside getaway right outside the city if you just need some peace and quiet without hurting your wallet.
The way we see it, this modern lodge-style haven balances a rustic and polished charm. We also like seeing the backdrop of Divis Mountain from the rooms—be sure to capture it during sunrise!
And unlike other motels with limited amenities, we appreciate that this motel showcases an on-site restaurant and bar. From our view, this is perfect for road trippers seeking a nice place to wind down after a long day.
But since this accommodation isn’t set in Belfast’s centre, you’ll need to allow around 15 to 20 minutes for driving. It’s free to park here, anyway.
And since there isn’t a lot of access to public transportation, the rural setting may not be ideal for some travellers.
A Hidden Gem
“First time here even though its just up the road…a hidden gem. Very friendly and attentive staff who went out of their way to make sure everything was on point. The food was beautifully prepared and the servings very generous. Definitely recommend”
-Mr. Mart Ball, Google Review
So Comfy & Warm
“Stayed in the glamping pods last night, they are so comfy and warm with beautiful views. Had a gorgeous steak dinner that night and then a lovely fresh fry in the morning. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, beautiful stay in a beautiful setting”

5. Premier Inn Belfast Titanic Quarter

Address: 2A Queens Rd
Phone: +44 333 321 9207
Premier Inn Belfast Titanic Quarter boasts a combo of affordability and a great location. For one, we love that it’s only steps away from major locations, such as the Titanic Belfast museum and the SSE Arena. There are loads of waterfront views too!
We’re also all about its spacious rooms with amenities helpful for a good night’s sleep, including Hypnos beds (with luxurious fillings such as cotton and latex) and blackout curtains.
Moreover, this option is only a 7-minute drive from George Best Belfast City Airport. In our opinion, these reasons make this a top spot for tourists and event-goers.
When you get hungry, there’s an on-site eatery too! No need to walk outside, even if you’re close to a bunch of restaurants too.
Just note that there’s no fridge in the rooms, in case you want to bring extra or leftover food inside. You need to pay for parking as well.
Clean & Comfortable
“The location is good since you can walk to the titanic museum and there is the mall a short drive away. The food is as you would expect at a hotel but Guinness is £5.50 so not bad compared to other places in Belfast. The room was clean and comfortable.”
-Mr. Robert Varnado, Google Review
